Pre- Admission
Prior to being admitted at Chethana please get a rough idea about the costs involved like bed charges, consultation charges, nursing charges, lab etc. On admission you will be asked to pay a deposit depending on the probable stay. During your stay ask the nurse on floor to know a rough estimate of the pending dues at any time...kindly give 15-20 min for them to get back to you.

Visiting Hours
In the interests of patient’s health visiting hours and number of visitorsare restricted. The visiting time will be 12:00 pm-2:00 pm / 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm. No unbooked visiting will be allowed between 8:30 pm to morning 7:00am. Visiting will also be restricted during staff change over times i.e. 8:00am-9:00am; 4:00pm-5:00pm; 8:00pm-9:00pm.
Leave from the hospital
You may be granted accompanied or unaccompanied leave from the hospital and this decision will be made by your treating psychiatrist.
Medication
Please ensure you have given your treating nurses all current medication and advise them of any allergic reactions you may have.
Belongings
On admission, Nursing Staff will search your belongings, and this may repeated at any time if clinical staff perceive / assess increased risk.
Parking
Free onsite parking is available for visitors but limited.
PLEASE NOTE: Park at your own risk, as no responsibility will be taken by Chethana in the event of an accident, theft of property, loss of property or damage to any vehicle.
Smoking
To ensure a healthier, cleaner and safe environment for our patients, staff and visitors Chethana is a NON SMOKING FACILITY.
Electronic Items
Laptops can only be brought into the hospital if approved by your treating Doctor. Inpatients are prohibited from using or accessing mobile phones or cameras for the duration of their stay.
Valuables
You are discouraged to bring any valuable items with you during your stay. The hospital has limited safe keeping facilities and will not accept liability for loss or damage to personal items.
Discharge
The process of discharge may take anywhere between 2-4 hours. On the day of discharge, rooms are to be vacated by 12:00 pm. If this is not possible, alternative arrangements may be made with your ward sisters prior to the day of discharge.
As a private patient you may discharge yourself at any time, except where your treating Doctor determines otherwise. This would be in a situation where discharge is detrimental or dangerous to yourself or others and if you do not comply then the doctor can get another psychiatrists opinion on the situation and keep you as an involuntary patient under the Mental Health Act.
Late Discharge
Please note there is a late discharge fee which you will have to pay if you have not left the Hospital by 12.00 pm on the planned morning of discharge.

Request other medical opinions if you wish
Be treated with respect and dignity
Receive care and support from nurses and allied health professionals
Receive advice before you leave hospital about planning your continuing health care
Give your concerns, compliments, suggestions or complaints about your health care and treatment
Obtain access to your medical records at the time of discharge and expect confidentiality for your personal information
You have the responsibility to:
Provide all relevant information to your doctor and hospital to assist with your care and treatment (for example, information about allergies or medications you are taking)
Participate in decisions about your treatment and care
Participate before you leave hospital in planning your continuing health care.
Code of Conduct
Chethana has established a Code of Conduct for all its employees and patients. Our code of Conduct requires us to act in a manner consistent with current community standards and expectations. As specialised mental healthcare providers we will continually strive to act in a courteous, caring manner and respect your needs.
As a patient or visitor coming into our facility, we ask you to treat our staff and others with courtesy and respect. Persons not acting respectfully of others may be asked to leave the facility. Chethana staff participate annually in a program to manage situation of inappropriate behaviour. This is in an effort to make out facilities safer for staff, medical practitioners, contractors, patients and visitors.
FEEDBACK : (Compliments, Comments, and Complaints Form)
Your comment and feedback are important to us at Chethana. It assists us to measure patients' level of satisfaction with our services and care provided, helps to plan future services and facilities as well as providing feedback to our staff.
If you have a complaint about the care or services provided, we encourage you to raise this immediately. Complaints can be raised with your contact nurse, nursing unit manager or the psychiatrist on duty.
All complaints will be dealt with in a strictly confidential manner, as soon as practicable. Responses will be relayed back to you either verbally or in writing. A form is available for patients to make a complaint, give an opinion, compliment or provide an improvement suggestion.
