A Fine Pair of Early 18th Century English School Portraits Dated 1714A fine pair of early 18thC English school antique portraits of a Gentleman and his daughter. Oil on copper. The portrait of the male states verso: Mr John Symkin born in Cheshire, 30th of July 1642, died 25th April in Plymouth. The painting is dated 1714 indicating he was around 72 when the portrait was completed. His daughter is referred to as "Miss John Symkin". An inscription verso confirms. Both pictures are presented in their original gilt gesso
